About this tool
Job boards and applicant tracking systems often limit resumes to 1–2 MB. A high-resolution photo or a layout exported from Canva or Word can push it to 5 MB or more.
The default target is 1 MB. We try lossless optimization first, which keeps text selectable — important so ATS systems can still read your experience — and only reduce image quality if needed.
How it works
- 1
Drop your PDF.
- 2
Adjust the target size if your destination asks for a different one.
- 3
Compress and review the result.
- 4
Download and attach.
Questions
- Will ATS systems still be able to read my resume?
- If lossless compression reaches the target, the text stays intact and selectable. If pages had to be rendered as images, the tool tells you: in that case shrink the photo in the original document and export again.
- Is my resume uploaded anywhere?
- No. It is compressed in your browser. Your name, ID number, phone and address never leave your device.
