Split a PDF and extract pages

About this tool

Splitting gets exactly what you need out of a long document: the certificate inside a case file, the signed page of a contract, the chapters of a report to send separately.

You type ranges with the same syntax as a print dialog: “1-3” is pages 1 to 3, “5” is only the fifth, and you can combine them with commas. Each range makes one file. If you leave the field empty, every page comes out as its own PDF.

If you would rather pick pages by looking at them, Extract pages shows thumbnails to tap. And if you have a scanned batch with several documents in a row, Split a batch looks for where each one starts.

Questions

How can I check that my file is not uploaded?
Open your browser's developer tools (F12), Network tab, and process a file: no request carries your document. Or load the page, go offline and use it: it keeps working.
How do I write the ranges?
As when printing: “1-3” is pages 1 to 3 and “5” only the fifth; separate them with commas. Each range makes one file.
Does it lose quality?
No. Pages are copied as they are, without recompressing them.
How is it different from Extract pages?
Split makes one file per range. Extract pages gathers the pages you pick into a single PDF, by tapping thumbnails.
I have many scanned documents in one PDF. How do I separate them?
Use Split a batch: it detects where each document starts so you do not have to hunt for the pages by hand.
