Merge PDFs without uploading the files to any server

Merge several PDFs in your browser and check it yourself: the Network tab shows no upload and the security header only allows connections to this site.

About this tool

Almost every PDF merging site uploads your files to its servers, processes them there and deletes them later, according to its policy. Here pages are copied in your browser's memory: there is no upload to delete.

We do not ask you to believe it. Open the browser's developer tools (F12), Network tab, filter by Fetch/XHR and merge two PDFs: no request carries your files. Then look at the page's headers: the security policy says “connect-src 'self' blob: data:”, meaning the browser will not let this page connect to any other site.

That header does not cover a full-page navigation, so it is not the only guarantee: the code that processes PDFs contains no external address either, and an automated test in a real browser fails if any tool sends data.

How it works

  1. 01

Open the browser's developer tools (F12) on the Network tab.

  2. 02

Drop the PDFs and order them.

  3. 03

Press Merge PDF and watch the Network tab: no request carries your files.

  4. 04

    Download the merged PDF.

Questions

What should I see in the Network tab?
GET requests to this same site to load the page and the engine, and none that sends a file. An upload would show up as a POST or PUT with a large body.
Where do I see the security header?
In the Network tab, click the first request (the document) and look for Content-Security-Policy in the response headers.
What if the code changes tomorrow?
The check you can do yourself is valid every time you do it. Also, every change goes through an automated test that fails if a tool sends data.
